當地時間12月20日在南美洲的哥倫比亞，發生一起貨機墜毀意外，機上6名組員只有1人生還。
從手機畫面看到，遠方的貨機越飛越低，最後直接摔落田野，燃起大片火光和黑煙，而機體受到重擊後也摔得四分五裂。當地時間週二（12月20日）傍晚5點多，蘇克雷航空公司一架波音727貨機，預定從哥倫比亞東部的「卡雷尼奧港」飛往首都「波哥大」，沒想到起飛不到3分鐘，高度就無法拉升，還一路衝出跑道擦過圍欄，之後墜毀釀成悲劇。由於先前巴西足球隊就在哥倫比亞發生空難，這次墜機也格外引發關注，但詳細失事原因還有待調查。（民視新聞綜合報導）
巴甲球會查比高恩斯在飛往哥倫比亞出戰南美俱樂部盃決賽途中發生恐怖空難，機上的一線隊隊員僅3人倖存，他們的決賽對手－哥倫比亞甲級聯賽亞軍隊麥德林國民競技在災難發生後，向主辦單位南美足聯申請讓對手直接加冕。
查比高恩斯在2014年才重新返回巴西甲級聯賽舞台，今年8到11月在南美俱樂部盃連續擊敗庫亞巴（巴西）、獨立體育會（阿根廷）、巴蘭基亞（哥倫比亞）、聖羅倫素（阿根廷），戲劇性地闖入隊史首次南美盃決賽，堪稱「巴甲灰姑娘」。
「基於競爭之外的人性考量，國民競技在此公開呼籲南美足聯將本屆南美俱樂部盃冠軍榮耀授予查比高恩斯，向他們巨大的損失致敬。」國民競技官方聲明。
「無論結果如何，對於國民競技來說，查比高恩斯將永遠是2016南美俱樂部盃的冠軍。」
